Eleni is the founder of Element and a Chartered Landscape Architect (CMLI) with 20 years of experience in creating spaces for living creatures. After finishing an MSc degree in Agriculture/Horticulture, she trained in Landscape Architecture at the University of Sheffield in the UK, with Nigel Dunnett as her supervising tutor. She has gained extensive experience in Mediterranean Planting Design under the mentorship of Jean Mus, a renowned 'landscape poet'.  Her expertise includes public realm design and frameworks, housing regeneration schemes, education and hospitality projects. She contributes her knowledge as a member of design review panels and regularly authors articles for professional publications. She set up the Meta.Biosis Lab project and has been recognised for her ongoing research in Japan, receiving grants as an individual from the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation and The Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation. Her research focuses on Disaster-Preventive Parks as places of protection and places of memory. She recently set in motion the project 'Sentient Edges', in collaboration with artists.

With a combination of global experience, design and horticultural expertise, Eleni brings a forward-thinking approach to landscape architecture. Her work bridges nature and man-made places, delivering projects designed for long-term impact and resilience.

Yuhei is a Landscape Architect and our collaborator at Meta.Biosis Lab. With over a decade of experience in large-scale masterplanning, public realm projects, and residential developments in both the UK and Japan, he currently leads our research project in Tohoku. Yuhei is deeply committed to cross-disciplinary collaboration, integrating expertise from various fields to enrich his work. He incorporates native species and the principles of the Miyawaki method in his designs, ensuring ecological enhancement and biodiversity.

Passionate about creating spaces that foster meaningful connections, he believes that the true essence of a great place lies in the people who engage with it. This philosophy inspired his venture into area management, revitalizing a park in his hometown. His ultimate goal is to create greener, more vibrant spaces where future generations can take pride in their community as they grow.
